Have your LPG appliances stopped working?

If you use gas bottles and your appliances have stopped working, there's some simple tests you can run to work out what's going on - like measuring how much gas is left in your cylinders, inspecting the pilot light on your hot water system, and checking for gas leaks.

Measuring gas levels

You can check how much is left in a gas bottle by using the hot water test.
Remember, you don't have to wait until both bottles run out of gas to order a replacement.
To measure gas levels, pour hot (not boiling) water down the cylinder while your gas appliances are in use.
Then run your hand down the gas cylinder. It will feel cool to the touch at the level of the gas.
